Well ladies, it has arrived. The footballs are flying and the leaves are falling…Fall is officially here! So you are probably thinking it’s time to break out the dark, vampy nail polish, right? Yes, it is, but there are some fun new polishes to try out this fall that shy away from the darkness that has been on trend the past few falls!
Many fall collections include both the traditional dark colors along with neutrals, jewel tones, and glitter polishes. Two of my favorite collections (outside of the OPI Germany collection, haha!) are from Sonia Kashuk and Butter London. They both involve new twists on our fall favorites along with some sparkle.
Sonia Kashuk’s fall 2012 line-up includes several color-rich hues and two colors that scream fall. My favorite of the bunch, and my first purchase of the set, is Dime a Dozen. It is a great sparkly slate that matches everything and is a little spicier than the typical neutral or gray polish.
Colors in the collection include: All Vamped Up (mocha brown), Dime a Dozen (shimmery gray silver), Emerald City (emerald green), Hocus Pocus (purplish tinted berry ALSO one of my favorite fall movies!), and Two Cents (shimmery copper).
Butter London’s fall collection is one of the more unique fall collections out there this year. It includes several holographic shades along with a glitter polish. The colors are vibrant and distinctive…some of them are like nothing I have ever seen! I will be picking up some of the shades! Many of them will be great for spring, too! Hey, you always have to look ahead, you know, past all of the cold and snow!
Colors include: Dodgy Barnett (holographic gray toned silver), Trustafarian (holographic light green), Shag (shimmery burgundy toned copper), Gobsmacked (shimmery grayish black), and Lovely Jubbly (glitter polish with purple, magenta, blue, and silver).
Once you pick up some of these new shades, try out this new manicure style! Put a base coat (in this case silver) on and let it dry, then add a pop of color and let the edges of the base coat show on the top and edges. I think this is a fun look and would look awesome with so many colors…including Halloween with an orange base and black in the middle!
